Besides a high water intake (3-4L daily), here are some foods to help you through a flare. I normally stick to these foods 80% of the time, even when not in a flare.
Foods I eat during a flare:
- Soups (dairy-free) such as organic tomato soup (which are often dairy free)
- White rice (avoid whole grain)
- White bread (avoid whole grain)
- Eggs (or egg whites)
- Salmon or any kind of fish
- Bananas
- Porridge
- Cream of Rice
- Applesauce
- Cooked carrots
- Potatoes
Foods I eat during a serious flare:
- Broths
- Gatorade
- Tea (ginger with turmeric, green, etc)
- Jell-O
Foods I won’t eat during a flare by some others do:
- Creamed soups
- Ensure
- Ginger ale
- Kefir
